Four generations of winemakers have developed this family vineyard. In the 1940s Joseph Alcon and his wife, both winemakers at La Galinière Winery, worked 8 ha. of vines which were taken over by Anselme Alcon and his wife in the 1960s. They developed the vineyard and became members of the cooperative wine cellar. Both of their sons joined them and for 20 years they bought, regrouped and replanted new plots of land helped by their wives.
The vineyard grew and was transformed by new grape varieties and new methods such as pruning, hanging, and mechanization.
During the viticulture crisis in 1987, they felt the need to vinify their harvest. They bought Les Charmettes Winery, quit the cooperative wine cellar and gave themselves a new challenge : renewing the vineyard while reorganizing and modernizing the wine cellar.
Eric and Nicolas, the sons of Francis and Marcel respectively, have studied agricultural machines, viticulture and oenology and have helped carry on the family tradition since 1997.
